First carnival costume I made was 5 years ago for my son was a costume of a sun with large rays around the face… the costume was very cute and original. Subsequently, I wanted to make more carnival costumes and hats, but more detailed. The result was so unexpectedly good that the idea came to try and make a small business from this hobby.
Almost immediately my costumes were liked by Etsy buyers I think because they were beautiful and bright, and I think the buyers felt that each creation had a part of my sole. I love all my costumes as my own children. The first purchase happened 2 months after the creation of an Etsy store, and I only 3 costumes up for sale.
What inspires me? A great review – after reading one, I get a bunch of ideas in my head. Sometimes in my head I want to create one thing, but hands create something else, too much inspiration can be a problem as well. At that moment I take a pause to rethink an idea.
I want love to have a large assortment of unique and professionally made costumes, I want to see constant and generous feedback from buyers! This will inspire me even more.
For me handmade is a combination of pleasure and business, when your work brings joy to others and I get a joy from make stuff. It’s not a full pledge business yet, but I dream of the time when it will become so.
What sets me apart? I create quality, bright, beautiful master peaces to bring smiles and joy to my customers and I think I’m on the right path.
